President's Message:
As summer comes to a close, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make the 2026 Alhambra Educational Foundation Summer School programs a tremendous success. Thanks to the dedication of our outstanding teachers, instructional aides, administrators, office staff, nurses, custodial teams, volunteers, and the continued partnership of the Alhambra Unified School District, hundreds of students had the opportunity to continue learning, grow academically, and prepare for a successful school year. Your commitment to our students is truly appreciated.
As we welcome students, families, and educators back for the 2026–2027 school year, I wish everyone a year filled with learning, achievement, and new opportunities. As the parent of an incoming freshman at Alhambra High School, I can certainly relate to the mix of excitement and nervousness that comes with the start of a new school year. Whether your child is beginning kindergarten, transitioning to middle school, starting high school, or returning to a familiar campus, each new school year brings fresh experiences, new friendships, and opportunities for growth. I encourage all students to embrace the journey ahead with confidence and curiosity, knowing that our schools, educators, and community are here to support their success every step of the way.
AEF remains committed to supporting our schools through innovative educational programs, teacher grants, literacy initiatives, student leadership opportunities, and community partnerships that enhance the educational experience for every student.
Mark your calendars for the Alhambra Educational Foundation's Shopping Extravaganza at the Citadel Outlets on Saturday, September 19th! This fall promises to be another exciting season for AEF as we prepare for the 13th Annual Alhambra Pumpkin Run & Festival on Sunday, October 25, 2026. One of our community's favorite fall traditions, the Pumpkin Run brings together hundreds of runners, walkers, families, businesses, and volunteers for a fun-filled morning celebrating health, wellness, and community spirit. Whether you're striving for a personal best in the 5K, 10K, Kids 1K or Kiddie Fun Run enjoying a walk with family and friends, or cheering on participants, there's something for everyone.
Registration is now open, and we encourage everyone to sign up early and invite family, friends, and coworkers to join in the excitement. Proceeds from the Pumpkin Run directly benefit the Alhambra Educational Foundation and help fund programs that enrich educational opportunities for students throughout the Alhambra Unified School District. We look forward to seeing our community come together once again for this exciting event and making an even greater impact on local education.
Sponsor opportunities are available for the run as well.
